“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you go; they merely determine where you start.” – DR. LAUREN FOGEL MERSY
Since adolescence, Maggie had known she wanted to help people in whatever capacity she could, so she had made it her career to do exactly that.
Magdalena Hallowell is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has been working as a therapist since 2016. She graduated from Cedar Crest College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Art Therapy, achieving her Master of Science in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College in 2016. Maggie has had the opportunity to conduct individual, family, and group therapy in a multitude of settings, ranging from internships in intensive outpatient drug and alcohol settings to community mental health and school-based programs, where she was able to help clients of all ages find their footing and become empowered in themselves.
Maggie has over 6 years of experience in working with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, attention deficit, and behavioral issues. Maggie uses a client-centered approach and makes sure the client feels heard and validated and uses encouraging language in each session. She is not afraid to help clients dig deeper into their psyche and will hold their hand through the process of becoming their most authentic selves. She loves somatic healing and tapping back into the body to help soothe feelings that often overwhelm.
Maggie strives to build strong, empathetic relationships with her clients to build goals together that are sustainable and manageable, where the clients become empowered, uplifted, and feel in control of their lives again.
“Success as a therapist is not found in doing something for the client, but rather in being someone for the client.” – ILI RIVERA WALTERS
