Joseph Strocchia, MS, LPC

My name is Joe and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with an extensive history working in the mental health field. I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Evangel University in 2002 and then my M.S. in Community Counseling from The University of Scranton in 2006. Working side by side with people in order to help them come through their struggles, and sometimes their darkest hours, is a large part of what drives me as a human being.

I specialize in working with adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, anger issues, impulse control, and relationship difficulties. I have worked as a Mental Health Therapist for a public high school and treated students for a variety of mental health issues. In this role, I also served as a member of many students’ IEP teams advocating for and treating their mental health struggles. I feel this experience has given me valuable insight into some of today’s adolescent struggles, particularly at school.

I also enjoy working and have extensive experience with adults. Whether it be on an individual basis or as a couple/marriage basis, I have experience helping folks through depression, anxiety, grief, anger issues, and communication struggles.

For those who might be looking to connect on a spiritual level or are looking to work with a therapist who can help guide them through their struggles from a biblical worldview, I have also worked in the capacity of a biblical counselor.

I take a person-centered approach with all of my counselors as I value each individual and the worth/value they possess. I believe care and empathy can be balanced with challenging one’s thought processes, emotional responses, and actions in order to achieve one’s goals.
